DEW File

The “file” works were inspired by the form of the gas grill burner grates that “frame” each of the constructions.  The grates have “tabs” that reminded me of file folder tabs. I consider each an isolated study or “file” of a form of water.  DEW File makes morning dew mechanical as the sprinkler head spreads the dewdrops onto the surrounding glass grass. DEW is capitalized in reference to “Distant Early Warning” in a Cold War-era radar network designed to detect threats to the US and Canada.  Now it’s our water, and thus our ecosystem, which is threatened by climate change and failures to protect our natural resources.
