Diptych

Diptych—inspired by the altarpieces that hinge like a book—combines strength and fragility. The glass “bubbles” that protrude from the holes in the cast iron drains are intended as signs of life emerging from the domed “belly” forms. The drains are vertical, undermining their function and giving them the appearance of shields or other armament.
