La Cage à Eau 4

The cage has been a recurring motif in my work throughout my career. Cages, like those in a zoo, entrap, display, and sometimes preserve the life within. Caging water is a futile act: it bubbles out through the holes; it seeps through the cracks; it flows through grates; it erodes its container. The La Cage à Eau series refers to indomitable forces and spirits that cannot be contained.
